Château Taillefer er blandt de ældste vinslotte i Pomerol og samtidig den ejendom, der har været længst tid i den legendariske Moueix-families besiddelse - hvilket den fortsat er! Navnet Taillefer refererer til jordbundens indhold af jern (”fer”), der ofte kædes sammen mineralske og trøffelagtige nuancer i rødvinenes smag. Taillefer råder samtidig over spændende grusholdige parceller med idéel beliggenhed nær Château Figeac i St. Emilion. Jep, Moueix er så meget andet end Pétrus, og Taillefer er familiens nok vildeste Pomerol-value...

“The velvety smoothness of Château Taillefer's wine, with its rare graphite flavor, made me re-examine the sandy-gravel terroir characteristics of the 2022 vintage. The wine's fruitiness is very mature, with clear and appealing aromas of blackberry, blueberry, and carnation. Although the complexity is not particularly rich, it is still pleasing enough. It is one of the most successful wines from the west-side sandy vineyards of Pomerol in the 2022 vintage.”

“The nose is fruity, concentrated and offers a floral side, a certain varietal freshness (in the background) as well as a little concentration. It reveals notes of fresh blackberry, graphite and slight notes of small wild black berries associated with a touch of roasted red berries as well as slight hints of violet, lily and discreet powdery/spicy hints. The palate is fruity and offers freshness, minerality, a fresh structure, good definition, juiciness, a nice acidity of the fruit as well as greediness. On the palate, this wine expresses pulpy/juicy blackcurrants and roasted red berries associated with touches of ripe/tangy black berries as well as slight hints of toasted hazelnut and chocolate/vanilla. The tannins are supple. Freshness, delicacy and a subtle mache on the finish.”
