Château Taillefer er Antoine Moueix´ første slot, som blev købt i 1923. Altså flere årtier inden Jean-Pierre Moueix, der tilhører en anden gren af familien, overtog styringen af Château Petrus.
Navnet Taillefer refererer til den rødfarvede jordbunds indhold af jern, på fransk "fer", som fremmer rødvinens unikke aromaer af trøfler og mineralitet.
I det seneste årti har ejendommen været drevet af Claire Moueix, der sammen med ægtemanden Cyril Basteau har løftet kvaliteten til nye højder!
Ejendommen består af 12 hektar med 90 % Merlot og 10 % Cabernet Franc, der har en gennemsnitsalder omkring 30 år. Druehøsten sker manuelt, og forkæles med omtrent 15 måneders modning på 225 liters franske barriquefade.
Resultatet er det ultimative røverkøb fra Pomerols legendariske Moueix-familie!

Château Taillefer er blandt de ældste vinslotte i Pomerol og samtidig den ejendom, der har været længst tid i den legendariske Moueix-families besiddelse - hvilket den fortsat er! Navnet Taillefer refererer til jordbundens indhold af jern (”fer”), der ofte kædes sammen mineralske og trøffelagtige nuancer i rødvinenes smag. Taillefer råder samtidig over spændende grusholdige parceller med idéel beliggenhed nær Château Figeac i St. Emilion. Jep, Moueix er så meget andet end Pétrus, og Taillefer er familiens nok vildeste Pomerol-value...
