"95-97 points. In the same league, if not better than the 2018" - Jeb Dunnuck
"95-96 points. A superb wine" - Bernard Burthschy
"94-96 points. A single vineyard within the Léoville Las Cases" - Wine Enthusiast
95-97/100 Jeb Dunnuck
"Another head-turning 2019 is the 2019 Clos Du Marquis. It's in the same league, if not better than the 2018, although the style is more focused and lively. Beautiful crème de cassis fruits, lead pencil, damp earth, and unsmoked tobacco notes define the bouquet, and it's medium to full-bodied, beautifully textured, has building tannins, and a great finish. It shows more violet and floral tones with time in the glass and is still tight and focused on the palate. My best guess is a good 4-6 years of bottle age will be warranted and it's going to evolve for three decades."
95-96/100 Bernard Burthschy
"Splendid notes of leather enhance the aromas of cassis and tobacco from the Clos du Marquis. The full-bodied wine is both voluptuous and very refined, with a beautiful length with a very nice spicy finish.... A superb wine"
94-96/100 Wine Enthusiast
"The wine from a single vineyard within the Léoville Las Cases estate shows power with discretion. Its tannins and rich black currant fruits from Cabernet Sauvignon are solid, ripe and also stylish. That makes for a wine that will have balance between structure and fruit, concentration and openness. The wine is set for long aging."
95/100 Decanter
"Fragrant and full with deep, rich, dark and silky tannins underpinned by great freshness. It has a smooth texture, the flavours of sweet but fresh and vibrant cherry fruit and a touch of menthol just gliding across the palate, supported by tight-knit tannins. High-toned with well-defined edges and a consistency from start to finish. You could drink this now for its rich but seductive charming fruit-forwardness."

"Gorgeous aromas of very bright red fruit and pencil lead lead to a palate all in finesse, which conveys density and elegance. One of the best I can recall from barrel, (...) a rather low pH of 3.6 (...) provides refreshing balance. A very successful wine here, so bravo!"
94/100 Robert Parker
"The 2019 Clos du Marquis is another cuvée from the Delon family that’s smaller than usual this year, as fully 20% of the vineyards that inform this bottling are in various stages of replanting, with the objective of bringing the percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon vines up to more than 70%. Exhibiting aromas of inky cassis, plums, incense, wood smoke and spices, it’s medium to full-bodied, fleshy and concentrated, with lively acids, beautifully powdery tannins and a supple, more immediately charming profile than its big sibling across the street, Léoville-Las Cases."
94/100 Alexandre Ma
"Unlike the opulence of the vintage of 2018, Clos du Marquis 2019 bears a decent French nobility, with every single button neatly exquisite to the most. The pure scent of mixed berries echoes with delicate rose petals, accompanied by sweet spices spilling up in the glass. A layer of well-polished tannins conveys a creamy texture to the palate, and 3.62 pH contributes a unique freshness from head to toes."

94/100 Vinous - Antonio Galloni
"The 2019 is an exuberant, plush Clos du Marquis packed with inky, dark fruit. All the signatures of Saint-Julien and this estate are all amplified in the glass. Licorice, lavender, spice and mocha develop, adding gorgeous layers to this decidedly extroverted Clos du Marquis. I haven't always been thrilled with how Clos du Marquis ages, but for drinking over the near and medium term, the 2019 is positively stellar."
94/100 Falstaff
"Deep dark ruby, opaque core, purple glints, faintly lighter at the rim. Crisp sweetheart cherries, a hint of cassis and orange zest, soft savoury wood nuances. Juicy, closely woven, elegant, sumptuous red fruit, silky tannins, racy acidity, filigree and animating. A multifaceted food companion."
