"92-94 points. This is a powerful expression of the vintage—a wine that should age well." - Wine Enthusiast

"Firm and complex, it shows both ripe fruit and weighty tannins, and is still very closed and tight. This is a powerful expression of the vintage—a wine that should age well."

"The nose is fruity, racy and offers a fine power. It reveals notes of ripe blackberry, ripe black and small notes of ripe wild raspberry associated with touches of lily, cornflower, sweet spices, nutmeg as well as hints of liquorice stick, Cuben pepper and mushroom. The mouth is fruity, well-balanced and offers elegance, a beautiful definition, roundness and a good definition. On the mouth this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, ripe wild raspberry and small notes of mild tobacco, violet associated with very fine hints of underwood and nutmeg. Tannins are elegant, very discreetly marked and well-built. A very discreet hint of underwood on the persistence."

"Colour intensity is quite deep, still impenetrable at the core, but it is starting to shed some of that colour towards the rim. More in the direction of ruby-red. Quite delicious nose here. Inviting with very sweet fruity character. Almost with a hint of confiture, combining red berry fruits, such as raspberry with some darker aromas of plum and cassis. There is an elegant toastiness in the background, so fine oak and fine spiciness as well. Some floral hints and also a touch of earth, like black truffle, that I love. Good grip on the palate. It is fairly high concentration. There is a high degree of ripeness here, so really quite opulent fruit. It suggests sweetness, but still it keeps classically dry on the palate, without over ripeness. I love that hint of fine confiture, framboise, dark plum and cassis. Tannins, there are quite a lot of them, but very finely integrated right now. Some notes of bitter chocolate on the palate, with roasted coffee beans. Quite approachable already, quite delicious. I think this one is approaching a first level of maturity. I could easily enjoy this today. Long finish. A fine persistence. Already starting to show its best sides. It should obviously develop a lot more complexity over the coming years. So a fine wine indeed."

"5 Thumbs Up. 92 point."

"Outstanding, typical of the location, fully meets the Primeur specifications, has definitely found its own style."
91/100 James Suckling
"This is a concentrated wine for the vintage, with spice and earth character. Full body, chewy tannins and a long finish. A little rustic now but will deliver so much pleasure."
91/100 Falstaff
"Dark ruby garnet, violet reflections, delicate water edge. Delicately animalistic, some cassis, delicate liquorice, a hint of caramel. Medium-bodied, red berries, freshly structured, demanding tannins, currant and brettanomyces in the aftertaste, chalky-taut, a classy accompaniment to food."
91/100 Gilbert Gaillard
"Deep garnet-red. Warm plummy nose with ripe black fruits and a graphite note. Power, warmth and opulence are the key themes on the palate. Ripe fruit with a slightly vegetal, liquoricy finish."
91/100 Anthocyanes, Y. Castaing
