Sammen med Pedesclaux i Pauillac, d’Issan i Margaux og naboslottet Lafon-Rochet i St-Estèphe udgør Château Lilian Ladouys en fantastisk kvartet af superslotte fra Vignobles Cruse-Lorenzetti.

Lilian Ladoys er indiskutabelt en ”rising star” i prestigefyldte Saint-Estèphe, der i foråret 2020 opnåede status som ”Cru Bourgeois Exceptionel”. Og det er faktisk ret exceptionelt…

Mens der findes uanede mængder Cru Bourgeois, så pryder blot 14 slotte sig med tillægstitlen ”Exceptionnel”. Det tætteste man kommer på 1855 Grand Cru Classé uden at være det!

Meget apropos ligger Lilian Ladouys nærmest klos op ad grænsen til Pauillac, hvor nærmeste slot hedder Château Lafite-Rotschild 1er Cru Classé! Andre parceller er lige så perfekt beliggende nær Cos d’Estournel og Calon Segur... “World Class potential”!

There are notes of pepper, ripe blackcurrant and, to a lesser extent, pulpy wild strawberry, combined with hints of lilac, racy minerality and fine hints of blond tobacco and varietal aromas as well as a hint of Bourbon vanilla bean and a subtle touch of fresh hazelnut (in the background). The palate is fruity, fresh and offers minerality, acidity, precision, tension, and elegance. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh blackberry, raspberry and more lightly fresh lilac/lys combined with hints of crunchy red berries as well as fine hints of star anise, iodine, and a discreet varietal hint in the background. Good length. The tannins are precise and mellow, good work on the bitter taste.”

Still quite a lean wine, streamlined and finessed, not layered or weighty but well presented and easy to enjoy. This will also age as it still feels a little young and tight.”

Château Lilian Ladouys Saint-Estèphe Cru Bourgeois Exceptionnel 2021 er skabt på et klassisk Bordeaux-blend på 59 % Merlot, 37 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 3 % Petit Verdot og 1 % Cabernet Franc. Alle druer plukkes ved håndkraft og sorteres endnu en gang manuelt i vineriet, så kun frugt i verdensklasse finder vej til gæringstanken. I kælderen knuses druerne nænsomt, hvorefter den står på koldmaceration, som hjælper med at trækkes farve og smag ud af drueskallerne. Vinen modner i 15 måneder på 40 % nye egetræsbarriques.
