"One of the prettiest Tertres I can remember tasting" - Antonio Galloni

”Tertre” betyder forhøjning, og Ch. du Tertre er blandt de højstliggende slotte i hele Margaux. Det gamle slot på det dybe grus har været beboet af historiske kendisser som Michel de Montaignes bror samt Marquis’en af Ségur. Ret usædvanligt råder slottet over samme enkeltmark som i 1855. Med sine 52 ha én af Médocs største. Vinmæssigt det bedste slot i Arsac.

Ch. du Tertre har været flyvende siden hollænderen Eric Albada Jelgersma tog over i 1997. Allerede to år efter stod et topmoderne vineri klar, bygget op fra bunden. Ligesom ”søsterslottet” Giscours flirter du Tertre med biodynamisk dyrkning, mens ”grøn høst” fra snart 60 år gamle vinstokke vidner om skånselsløs prioritering af druekvalitet fremfor høstvolumen. 

Ved køb af 6 flasker leveres vinen i original trækasse.

"The nose is fruity, fine, slightly bewitching and offers harmony, elegance as well as a fine intensity. It reveals notes of crushe cassis, violet and strawberry associated with fine touches of crushed blackberry, liquorice, black cherry, sweet spices as well as subtle hints of sugared tobacco, discreet hints of racy minerality, toasted/roasted oak, an imperceptible hint of Cuben pepper and coffee. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, slightly tight and offers a good definition, a fine acid frame, a fine suavity, fat, a good maturity, gourmandize, a fine tension, a very fine juiciness (in the background) as well as a fine power. Tannins are well-built and offers silkiness yet. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, ripe/fleshy red berries and mores slightly wild strawberry, cassis associated with hints of toasted oak, coffee and a very discreet hint of tonka bean, flowers (in the background) as well as an imperceptible hint of almond and toasted bread. Tannins are fine and well-built. Good length. Very discreet chews on the finish/persistence."

"Walk into a flower store with a basket of cherries and you get the idea, especially if you add peppery spice, tobacco leaf and wet earth. Soft, polished, refined and sweet, the tannins are silky, the fruits are juicy and there is length. This is going to be delicious in its youth, and it will age well too! From a blend of 75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 5% Petit Verdot, the wine reached 13.5% alcohol with a pH of 3.9. The harvest took place from September 14 until October 2. Due to the frost, they lost 35% of the crop"
