95/100 James Suckling
“This has enticing aromas of dried violets, chocolate, oyster shells, bark, blackcurrants, black plums and cloves. There’s plenty packed into a medium body, with ultra-fine, creamy tannins enveloping a perfumed core of black fruit. So creamy and caressing. ”
95/100 Revista Adega
“This Grand Cru Classé from 1855 in Margaux has 49 hectares of vineyards planted on deep gravel and distributed in 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 2% Petit Verdot. Around 65% of the wine is aged in new oak barrels. A slender wine with a delicious texture. The most vertical of the wines tasted. The fruit is fresh, with powerful tannins, but camouflaged by elegance, spectacular acidity, which provides juiciness and will contribute, together with the tannins, to a long and beautiful evolution.”

94-95/100 Vert de Vin
“On the nose it is elegant, power (with excellence), intensity (with excellence), depth as well as a nice fineness of grain. It reveals the notes of pulpy/fleshy blackberry, fleshy/crushed cherries and more slightly strawberry associated with toast, fresh blond tobacco, blueberry as well as hints of violet, bergamot, racy minerality (almost iodized), discrete hints of licorice and a discreet touch of toast. The palate is fruity, balanced and offers a nice freshness, minerality, good definition, juiciness, intensity, delicacy, a little compactness, suavity, dynamism/energy, a controlled power and a nice tangy frame. A certain richness of fruit but with finesse. The wine express the notes of pulpy blackberry, bright cassis and more lightly bright red currants associated with hints of cherry, cherry blossom, lilac, racy minerality, hints of bergamot, blueberry, saffron, nutmeg as well as fine hints of toast, chocolate, a discreet hint of vanilla and a subtle hint of sweet blond tobacco. The tannins are precise, fine and racy. Good (and palatable) length.”

“High quality here”
93/100 Jeb Dunnuck
“A terrific effort from this Margaux château, the 2020 Château Dauzac has a plump, medium-bodied, rounded style that gives it plenty of accessibility even today. Ripe black cherries, currants, smoked tobacco, and chocolate notes define the aromatics, and it has supple tannins, plenty of mid-palate depth, and outstanding length. I'd happily drink a bottle today, but it will evolve for 15+ years or so.”
93/100 Decanter
“An attractive welcoming nose, plenty of bright perky fruits with floral peony and rose aromatics. Still clear austerity in the tannins but wrapped up with balance, classicism and elegance. Feel some bounce through the tannins here, with the emphasis on a cool blue rather than ripe black side of the fruit. A yield of 47hl/ha. Ageing for up to 16 months.”
93/100 Jeff Leve, The Wine Cellar Insider
“Lush, plush, polished and creamy, this gem is packed with black cherries, chocolate, espresso, blackberries, smoke and violets. Full-bodied, long and rich, the fruit really lingers from the mid-palate through to the finish.”
93/100 WinesCritic.com
“Raspberries, currants, linden flowers, gardenias, magnolias and elderflowers describe the sensory profile of this young, vibrant expression made in Margaux. Medium bodied, biting tannins and a juicy, intriguing finale. Beautiful from the start.”
